Artist Bio
"I am a London based artist and have been painting full time for just over a year and a half now. Before this I got fully qualified as an Architect and worked in the industry for 5 years before deciding it wasn’t for me and working on art in my spare time. I took the leap just before the pandemic which has been an incredible journey and I am delighted to have been selected for the Hang Tough Contemporary open call! The majority of my work is figurative, particularly portraiture, and for me the meaning is in the pursuit of capturing the personality and spirit of my subject in as expressive and playful style as possible. I get a real thrill when I can see a character coming to life and revealing itself. I would describe my style as emotive, rough, colourful and fast all suffused with a healthy dose of humour."
