Bríd Higgins Ni Chinnéide

Bríd Higgins Ní Chinnéide is an Irish figurative artist.

She draws most of her inspiration from people – their faces and their bodies. Bríd is interested in the substance of paint itself and is constantly learning about this medium and its potential for conveying both the substantial and insubstantial aspects of life.

Bríd exhibited a solo show of works at Hang Tough Gallery in 2020 entitled the Human Child. This body of work drew attention to the self-possession and sense of purpose embodied in children while also questioning the fear and foreboding that the adult’s gaze brings to images of childhood.
